Blues-n-Blades is the result of the popularity of the joyful, spontaneous performances of the Blues-rock duo of Big Ma'akle E and the deacon .
This fraternally-based duo adopted the name of 'Brother Ray & the Blades' as a tribute to their father and the family name.
At the end of January, 2006, Brother Ray & the Blades recorded three original songs at the legendary Sun Studios - the Birthplace of Rock 'n' Roll.
Big Ma'akle E and the deacon were joined by their friends, Raul Hernandez on drums and George Caldwell on bass guitar of the Joey Gilmore Band, winners of the 2006 International Blues Challenge. The session was engineered and co-produced by James Lott.
BME is now doing some post-production tweeking. Brother Ray & the Blades hope to have the songs available for down-load soon.
